As an educator, I am guided by these wise words of Dewey, as I believe we need to reflect on and review our effectiveness to ensure that we create modern learning environments that will meet the needs of our students; preparing them for their futures.

Jo works directly with schools in the these key areas: 

  • strategic planning for the implementation and seamless integration of eLearning.
  • comprehensive school review. 
  • strategic planning (including needs based analysis) to develop modern learning environments
  • Management and Governance - clarifying expectations, roles, and responsibilities

Jo has 30 years of experience in education as a teacher, school leader, facilitator, and consultant. She has an MEd in Leadership (first class honours) with a focus on leading change, strategic process and e-learning.

Since joining CORE Education in 2010, Jo has been Project Leader of the National ICT PD Project and the National Blended e-Learning Project.

Strategic planning for the implementation of eLearning
2013 — Vardon School, Pukete School, Hamilton West School: Using the eLearning Planning Framework to gather data to ascertain current reality. The framework was then used as a guide to identify big picture goals and a comprehensive action plan 

Whole School Review
Willowbank School, Howick Primary School Point View School, Hurupaki School: Using the Educational Positioning System (EPS) to undertake a rigorous process of school review involving all members of the school community (School leaders, Teachers, Support staff, Parents and Students). This then provides a framework for  future growth and development promoting a modern learning environment

Visioning
Pukete School: Working with school leaders, teachers and parents to review, redefine and clarify the school mission, vision and values.

Governance and Management
Crawshaw School, Tirohia School: Working with new Boards of Trustees to clarify understanding and systems for the roles and responsibilities associated with management and governance
